There is a book by the late Graham Maddocks that you should try and get hold of. And there is also a book about the King's Liverpool Regiment during WW1 by Everard Wyrall which has just been reprinted. I'm sure that as I type someone will be looking up the details on their copy of the diary. The main copies are kept at the Merseyside Maritime Museum but I don't know their policy in doing research. Also try the King's Regiment Museum at the Museum of Liverpool Life I hope this moves you a little further on in your research than you were.
