Re: Internment Camp at Islington

I am in posession of an artifact hand-made by an unknown POW (presumbably German?) at the Islington Camp in 1916. I would like to return the object to the family of its original owner and would appreciate any help tracking down names of male prisoners interned at Islington camp during 1916. Surname of prisoner is believed to begin with letter 'H', and a photo included in the piece leads me to believe prisoner was a highly-awarded sportsman.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Margaret.

Sydney, Australia.

There is a lengthy discussion on this site via the link below to the Handforth Internment Camp

I don't know whether anyone is still following this but would there have been any lists with names?  My grandparents came to England in 1860.  He had a son by a second marriage and he was interred during WW1.
