les 1RHA Posted 29 April , 2005 Share Posted 29 April , 2005 hello all, Help, my grandfather served in the Yorkshire Regiment until his death in flanders in 1916. while researching his past i came across his enrollment form for the police force in 1901 and it states that he served with the 34 bn imperial yeomanry in SouthAfrica, can anyone give me any information on this 34 bn so far i have only got some inconclusive information. Kate Wills Posted 29 April , 2005 Share Posted 29 April , 2005 Les, You should be able to locate his enlistment papers in the National Archives at Kew. Swannell (see my signature below) served in the 37th Company, and having accessed his, they appear to intact, and in good order. It is also worth checking the local press, and local war memorials.
