bedfordyeoman Posted 26 April , 2005 Share Posted 26 April , 2005 This query is directed at those with knowledge of the absent voters/census lists available for Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire and some geographical awareness ! I have been to the Cambridge Records Office - they hold the AVLs for what I would regard as the immediate area around Cambridge - but not as far as March, Chatteris, Ely etc - and not for Cambridge itself. Does anyone, perhaps CB, know if and where AVLs for those areas are to be located or if any census exists immediately pre or post war? Apologies in advance if the areas mentioned were in a different county ! I have also been to the Northampton Central Library, as it holds AVLs for what I would regard as Northampton and immediate area. An assistant suggested that other areas may be covered by the County Records Office. Again, is there anyone out there who can assist with the far-flung areas of Northamptonshire ?
