Remembered Today:

ANZAC Day - Ypres 25 Ypres 2005

Today at 11 a.m. there was a special ceremony for Anzac Day and a Last Post at the Menin Gate. The sky was dark and clouded, and there was rain. But that did not make the ceremony - which lasted approx. 40 minutes - less impressive.

Below a handful of photos.

Thankyou Aurel, for the posting. For those of us that can't get to these places, photos like these are great. Nice to see Aussies and Kiwis in the crowd.

Hi Aurel and friends "down under"

A pity you missed the ceremony at Tyne Cot Cemetery, organised by Zonnebeke City Council and "Memorial Museum Passchendaele 1917" at 10.00 o' clock.

Very moving: buglers, Last Post, exhortation, Belgian military guard of honour and most important of all: more than 200 people attended this on a Monday morning.
