Hi There, :)

There was once a War Memorial at Rubery Owen in Darlaston, West Midlands. It was a General Engineering Works. It has long since been raised to the ground.

Does anyone know what happened to the Memorial ?

Cheers

Tim

Tim,

I have some more info which may be of use. The Rubery Owen building in Booth Street, Darlaston was sold to the Walsall Housing Regeneration Association for them to create the Rubery Owen Enterprise Centre. This was intended to offer workspace units for rent, facilities for meetings, seminares, etc. This implies that the building may still exist. Try Accord Housing on 0121 500 2340.

Another contact is Rubery Owen Holdings (in Booth Street) 0121 526 3131

Good Luck

Roy

Hi Roy, :)

Very many thanks for the extra information.

I contacted that number you gave me for Rotech today and spoke to the manager there. He was very nice and said what you have just told me about the building being occupied by Walsall housing and that he saw a couple of plaques last time he was there, which was a few months ago. He said that Rubery Owen still had a presence there and he would make some enquiries and phone me back.

I'll keep you posted.

Cheers

Tim.
