Adrian Roberts Posted 23 April , 2005 Share Posted 23 April , 2005 Originally, SS meant Screw Ship or Screw Steamer, as opposed to PS which meant Paddle Ship/Steamer. [e.g the PS Waverley preserved excursion vessel].
