Tawhiri Posted 7 May Share Posted 7 May He appears to have two separate files in the AIR 76 records, unless there were two individuals named Harold George Goddard serving in the same timeframe, along with a very brief casualty form and a casualty incident card for the accident in which he was injured. https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/D8264645 https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/D8264641 https://www.casualtyforms.org/form/8516 https://www.rafmuseumstoryvault.org.uk/archive/goddard-h.g Given his date of birth on the second of his two AIR 76 files, he is presumably the Harold George Goddard who's birth was registered in the third quarter of 1899 in Canterbury, Kent. If he is, then this would appear to be him with his family in the 1901 and 1911 England and Wales censuses. 1901 - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X9F8-SKD 1911 - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XW6M-SF7 There is a 1926 probate record for what looks like the death of his mother, naming him as the beneficiary, with the location given as Calendar, Idaho, USA. No obvious sign of a death registration for him in the UK, so he possibly immigrated after the war, but that would require further digging.
