esco Posted 29 April Share Posted 29 April Wigan Examiner 26.1.1917. Pte 4290 Walter Mason. Lancashire Fusiliers. (Wigan.) has been awarded the Military Medal for bravery and devotion to duty in the field. He enlisted in August 1914 and is at present in hospital in Rouen suffering from wounds in the back and leg. Pte Mason is 44 years of age and his wife and seven children reside at 17 Yates St, off Miry lane. Prior to enlisting he was employed at the Bamfurlong collieries. MM LG: 11.10.1916.
