Ross Bayonet Questions

I know there are some experts more than I on this forum, I was wondering - I picked this bayonet up for very cheap a number of years ago, but have allways been a bit perplexed as to its condition.

Were Ross Bayonet MK1s ever blued or refurbished with blueing on the blade?

also I have noticed some bayonets have a “C” broad arrow- mine has a standard - which I have seen on some photos online, does this have anything to do with its service life? Or is it just a non-consequential variation.

kind regards

It is an early issue P1908 with some nice regimental markings on the pommel. Marked to the 11th Hussars, weapon number 35, with the issue date being stamped as well 5.13 (May 1913) This regiment was part of the Light Cavalry section of the Canadian Militia, see info linked below.

The “C /I\” marking appears starting in 7/‘09 according to the other concurrent thread, prior to that it was Broad Arrow only.

Thanks very much, I had figured the regiment but never researched it much more than that- are the blades supposed to be blued? All the ones I’ve seen are polished

kind regards
