James A Pratt III Posted 24 April Share Posted 24 April Does anyone know the U-boat that on 6 May 1916 rescued and took prisoner FS/LT ATM Conley (P) and LT RM Inge (O) after their plane S 184 8083 was forced down in the sea?
horatio2 Posted 25 April Share Posted 25 April According to Ray Sturtivant's "RNAS Aircraft Serials and Units" this Short 184 Ser. 8038 Force landed from Dover and was captured by a German torpedo boat on 6 May 1916. Flown by FSL ATN COWLEY (Arthur Thomas Noel) and OSL RM INGE RNVR. INGE was a former Signalman RNVR (London Z/604).

Michael Lowrey Posted 25 April Share Posted 25 April In my notes, I have it as the German torpedo boats (destroyers to everybody else) V 47 and V 67 but offhand am note sure of the source of that.
