Jude Gibson Posted 18 April Share Posted 18 April Just a short note to acknowledge the growing trend in the Irish republic to publicly honour those who fought and died in WW1, Trim in Co. Meath and Athenry in Co. Galway. (image of latter). My offer from a few years ago still stands, if you have a poor quality WW1 photo, I am happy to try and improve it for you if possible. This offer is free for all members. I thought this might be of interest to some. Clonmacnoise in Co. Offaly is the site of a major 6th century ecclesiastical centre in the middle of Ireland. Over 800 early Christian grave markers have been excavated from the graveyard which also contains 2 Royal Air Force Commonwealth War graves. Jack Shea was in 935 balloon squadron and Corporal Bridget White in Auxiliary Air Force. Both died in separate road accidents
