Poppy Mercier Posted 18 April Share Posted 18 April Morning everyone, Buried in my local communal cemetery is an IWGC gardener caretaker Frank Hayward. He died in the late 1930s. A while ago it got me thinking, how many other IWGC/CWGC staff are buried in CWGC sites with CWGC headstones? After speaking to Caitlin Deangelis (author of "The Caretakers") we realised there's no one database for these interesting burials. So now, we're working on putting together a "wikipedia list article" to try and get the information in one place. I've added a link below to what we have so far, and if anyone knows of any we're missing I'd love to know! (especially if people have photos I could upload of the headstones) If I've posted this in the wrong place please feel free to move it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:List_of_Imperial_War_Graves_staff_burials

PaulC78 Posted 24 April Share Posted 24 April (edited) Interesting project, but do be wary of Wikipedia's notability guidelines. The only name I can add is Albert George Gibb, died 1962 and buried at St George's Churchyard, Didbrook. I think I saw it posted on social media somewhere but you can find a photo of the headstone on Find a Grave. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/189932935/albert-george-gibb EDIT - It was posted on Twitter: Edited 24 April by PaulC78
