Remembered Today:

Royal Scots

Here's a pic for those interested in the Royal Scots - They are of my grandfather's unit - He was in the Royal Scots, and ended up (on his medals as Pte R. Murdoch 41238I). I drew a blank with his record, so I don't know what Battalion/Company this would be. I am presuming they were taken in France, somewhere behind the lines. Also got no idea of date, as from what I know my grandfather gained and lost stripes a couple of times, and can't see any wound stripes. He is the one seated with the leather pouches. I believe he was a Lewis gunner - picked due to his marksmanship skills. He was only 5' 3" (size 3 boots) - I would have imagined they would pick bigger guys to cart one of these around.
