Pete_C Posted 31 March Share Posted 31 March (edited) Genuine SMLE safety catch components - apart from the safety spring (dog bone shape) - are currently available on ebay (UK) for around £12 per set plus postage - example below but there are other similar listings. There are some sets listed with the later economy style plain safety springs for around £20 plus postage - don't look as good but they work fine. 4thGordons Posted 31 March Share Posted 31 March Some pics I took to try and illustrate this ages ago: Safety group (parts - as above) Engaged ("safe") Starting position for assembly. The lever ring has to be threaded all the way down on the levers thread so that pulling back on the safety screws the locking lever inwards to engage with the cocking piece.
