Casques of WW1 Posted 27 March Share Posted 27 March Anyone know why in the world the French made their soldiers wear bright blue (cravat)/neckties in their uniforms? I would assume their purposes was to help with the cold, prevent ichyness from wool, and aesthetics, but what was the deal with it being full blown blue and standard issue instead of horizon blue or private purchase? Casques of WW1 Posted 27 March Author Share Posted 27 March It seems like a relic item of 1914 that somehow managed to survive the modernization of ww1 into 1918
