andrew pugh Posted 27 March Share Posted 27 March Good Morning Is there anybody able to tell me what units of the RASC were in or near Barastre during the start of the British Offensive August 1918? Also is there a list of CQMS who were killed around this period. Hope someone can advise. Regards Andy
Waggoner Posted 27 March Share Posted 27 March Would a search of the CWGC site give you a list of possible casualties? All the best, Gary

Kind Regards Andy I'm not absolutely certain but I think that 1st GHQ Reserve MT Company ASC are referred to, in Michael Young's book as just GHQ Reserve MT Company ASC ( I suppose because at the time they were the first and only Reserve MT company, they didn't need an ordinal number to differentiate them. - a bit like Queen Victoria/Queen Victoria the First. ) In which case, they were 68 Coy., ASC. In which case their war diary should be WO95/134 and are to be found here: https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/browse/r/r/C4553285 They are free if you register for a free account. There are 7 diares in all, all or none may give you relevant information. Apologies in advance if they are not the right ones
