Tommyww1 Posted 23 March Share Posted 23 March Can someone give me some more information about this trunk. Is this something a museum would want? What's the value of this? Thank you so much Tom!
4thGordons Posted 24 March Share Posted 24 March According to South Carolina History . net "58th Pioneer Infantry: Formerly 1st Connecticut Infantry. Arrived at Camp Wadsworth on February 20, 1918 , with 28 officers and 169 enlisted men. Never sent overseas. Demobilized at Camp Wadsworth in January of 1919." This fits with the inscription on the box (and reference to Hartford) It's a fairly standard US "Footlocker" of the WWI period, commonly found and probably not of great interest to a musuem unless there is a one dedicated to the Connecticut Military Experience -- this is the best I can find that meets that https://gmvmm.com/ Chris
