The attached image is of the Casualty Form For Rfn George Betty, 12th Btn London Regt. I can make out Gun Shot Wound, Right ? I'm not sure what the next letters mean. Any idea's where he was hit? I'm aware this could also be a shrapnel wound.

TIA

Cam.

Right ear.

Thanks for your reply. The entry for 9/10/16 does look like ear, but the entry above for 8/10/16 is GSW R and then 2 letters?

I'm seeing 'ear' for both entries

Wounded in action 7.10.16.

Admitted gunshot wound right ear 8.10.16 (presumably a FA or CCS)

Admitted Etaples gunshot wound ear right 9.10.16. Etaples (moved up the evacuation chain with the same wound only to apparently get a hospital acquired infection)

Thanks for your reply. Great, happy with that then. Yes, he ended up with Bronchitis, Quincy and Pleurisy.

Hi Chaz, Yes I have it all thanks. He's 473920 Rfn George Betty, 12th Btn London Regt. A distant cousin of mine. Sadly died in 1933 in a shooting accident.

Yes, as I said I have his service records etc. He was originally Somerset Light Infantry then 12th and 6th Btns London Regt.

Cheers
