gt4grey Posted 15 March Share Posted 15 March Hi, I’m not hoping for much of a response from this post but here goes, I’m trying to find out about my fathers military history, unfortunately his medals were stolen some time ago, I do remember that 2 of them were stars and 3 were round, he was a regular in the army from 1939 to 1945, His name was Henry John Farmer born in 1911 in Spitalfields London, I have paid for a year’s subscription for “My Heritage” but sadly haven’t come across anything, looking at medal records there are of course loads of Henry farmers, and as I don’t have his military info that doesn’t help, I remember when I was a child looking at the family photo album ( now sadly lost ) there were many photos of him in the desert in hot weather uniform (shorts) he brought home after ww2 a Mah Jong set also the photo album which had a picture of a geisha girl on the front wearing traditional clothes, I think Singapore, he also brought home for Mum some silver and black jewelry, I think one of the pieces had Egypt on it, sadly all mums jewelry was stolen during the early days of her dementia., he also had a medal for being regimental heavyweight boxing champion, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thank you…… Ronnie Farmer
