I am doing some research on the 15th Canadian Infantry and was interested about what occurred on the 2nd March 1917. I found a war Diary which went up to April 1916 but i couldn't find one that exceeded this date. Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction to get it for the 2nd March 1917.

Thanks in advance.

Rob

This would appear to be the war diary that you are looking for, covering the period 1 May 1916 to 31 December 1917, from the Canadian Archives.

Edited to add that a quick look at the war diary for 2 March 1917 doesn't reveal an obvious cause of death for the four soldiers listed above as being killed/dying on this date, the war diary doesn't report any casualties, and in fact the battalion was rotated out of the front line that evening. Given that the four soldiers are buried/commemorated in three separate locations, including two with no known grave on the Vimy Memorial, one might suspect that they were not actually with the 15th Battalion at the time of their deaths.

I was also going to note that the full service records of the four individuals noted above will also be available online through the First World War Personnel Records database of the Canadian Archives. These should be able to tell you more about the circumstances of each individual's death.
