Grid Posted 13 March Share Posted 13 March Looking at casualty cards from Hendon RAF many of the Americans have as their 'regiment' the 'USAS' but I see in other places that it was called the USAAS. (And sometimes the A.S. US Army). Is there a definitive name for this? Cheers, Adam
Errol Martyn Posted 13 March Share Posted 13 March Adam, For what it is worth, I compiled this guide for my own research. Happy to hear from others as to whether all is correct or otherwise? Loopgraaf Posted 13 March Share Posted 13 March @Grid Do you meant this? https://www.ebay.ca/itm/194987925430 I think this is very rare.
quemerford Posted 13 March Share Posted 13 March Annoyingly, I have a vivid recollection of the "USAS" script but cannot locate it as yet: it was a distinctive font.
LDT006 Posted 14 March Share Posted 14 March USAS is the abbreviation which I have always seen, the badge was wings with "US". See link for a collection of originals: https://www.ww2wings.com/wings/wwi/us/us.shtml @Marian2 will have more details. Luc.
