shippingsteel Posted 12 March Share Posted 12 March This looks like it could be an Italian M1891 bayonet for the Carcano rifle, but I am not certain about the timber grips if they are original or whether they have been replaced. They should not normally be chequered like that. Muzzle ring appears to have been removed which doesn't help with the identification. You can provide measurements of the blade section and total length overall if you want to be more precise. Cheers, SS
AndyBsk Posted 12 March Share Posted 12 March SS is corect italian Carcano M91, the chequering on grips was probably done by owner. The piece should be WW1 but when blued on metal parts so even it could be WW2 period. barell ring on crosspiece was broked out.
