Guest Hussar Posted 22 June , 2003 Share Posted 22 June , 2003 Hi all, As the Guards had their own Machine Gun Regiment and Insignia, I was wondering about other Units. My Grandfather was in the 18th Hussars and then in a Cavalry Machine Gun Squadron. Would he have continued to wear:- A) His Hussars Insignia with a MG Patch? MGC Insignia? or C) Did the Cavalry MG Squadrons have there own Insignia? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Paul Reed Posted 22 June , 2003 Share Posted 22 June , 2003 He would have worn MGC badges and MGC/CAV shoulder titles; unofficially, especially in the early days of the MGC, some men wore their old regimental badges on their collars; they seems to have disappeared by 1917.
