GROBBY Posted 6 March Share Posted 6 March Can anyone help me identify this canvas possible flying coat .It is waxed canvas with metal flat hook and eye fastenings with what looks like a sheepskin lining. Most of the flying clothing I have seen have been leather apart from the Sidcot suit but I would have thought that canvas would have been used as well . Thank you for any help

Interested Posted 6 March Share Posted 6 March I believe the display card refers to the tunic on the stand behind the canvas coat.

GROBBY Posted 6 March Author Share Posted 6 March From the picture and photos Im pretty sure its the same coat but not sure yet if it was Army Service Corps or RFC as the RFC had a Coats Waterproof Pilots coat that was introduced in August 1916 just before the Sidcot Suit and was canvas lined with Thibet or Slink which was lamb wool .Thank you for the info
