topdeer Posted 29 February Share Posted 29 February I just need some help with finding Sergeant Joseph Norman RTS/2821 Meritorious Service Medal in the London Gazette. I have his medal index card and his MID in the London Gazette, service record. I don't think he served in the Boer war.
Chesterboy Posted 29 February Share Posted 29 February A Quick Look at Ancestry, it’s seems that the MSM was mentioned in the Peace Gazette

Keith_history_buff Posted 29 February Share Posted 29 February RTS/5218 William Helmsley Emory enlisted on 29 December 1914. He has a surviving service record. Not sure when your man would have enlisted and been allocated his service number.

Keith_history_buff Posted 29 February Share Posted 29 February There is a surviving service record for RTS/2824 Joseph Corcoran, who enlisted on 28 September 1914. He arrived in France on 17 October 1914. Apparently..... The RTS prefix literally translates as Remount Transport Specials.
