Candicemarie54 Posted 27 February Share Posted 27 February Possibly yeomanry? Or a group on training? Could they be 2nd Dragoon Royal Scots Greys? Or a Yorkshire regiment? Would appreciate any thoughts. Unfortunately the insignia isn't very clear. Many thank, Candice.
Admin Michelle Young Posted 27 February Admin Share Posted 27 February Welcome to the forum. I don’t think the photo is WW1, looks like a Bren gun, and one of the soldiers appears to be wearing battle dress. What is the provenance of the photo please? FROGSMILE Posted 27 February Share Posted 27 February (edited) The WO seated centrally is a QMSI from the Small Arms School Corps and his squad of students are infantrymen of various regiments. The date around 1937-38 I think. It looks like the Middle East, perhaps Libya. The students are mostly wearing canvas duck fatigue suits but one is wearing a suit of battle dress. The khaki field service cap worn by one man was introduced in 1937. Edited 27 February by FROGSMILE
