observer Posted 21 February Share Posted 21 February (edited) While I was one day searching the Internet {google books} I beleve I came across the story of german Physician ..he faught on the Union side [US Civil War 1861-1865] as a surgeon and then went back to the fatherland....after 50 years in 1914 he enlisted with the German Army as a Surgeon although I think he was in his 70's! sorry I cant give the source..but thought Id mention it just as one of the late War curious stories....
