WayfaringStranger Posted 18 February Share Posted 18 February (edited) I recently acquired this antique portrait. I was wondering if it is of a U.S. Navy Yeoman (F) from WW1 or WW2. Thoughts? Edited 18 February by WayfaringStranger
KizmeRD Posted 18 February Share Posted 18 February (edited) Comparing the images of portrait with actual 1917/18 USN Yeomen (F) - I have to come to the conclusion that it's more likely a bespoke navy style outfit worn by a lady with naval connections. The blouse, black choker and anchor broach were not authentic uniform items. See image attached of a women in standard white naval WW1 uniform for comparison purposes. And its definitely not anything remotely like what was being worn in WW2. MB Edited 18 February by KizmeRD
