What was a PUPO? EO3 and Y Squadron?

I guess these are simple questions but I cant find exactly what an E03 is as far as rank/role? I have that in combination with the abbreviation

P.U.P.O. when referring to an officer photographer in RFC? 

Also what do they mean by "Y" Squadron in the Middle East.

PUPO, permanently unfit as pilot officer  28/2/1918 from,

EO3 Equipment officer 3

Y squadron seems to be a training squadron based in Egypt. Someone better informed will no doubt be along later.

Yes, I believe that is correct regarding "Y" Squadron.

Bases

Formed at Heliopolis, with nucleus ex 5 FS 1919, for suppression of tribal insurgency in the Nile Valley. To Wasta 20.3.1919 with dets at Beni-Suef, Minia and Kena. To Beni-Suef. To Assiyut by 5.1919 with dets at Kbua and Beni-Suef. Disbanded 21.7.1919.
