Would like an idea of the info that this spoon has. It was my nans and believe it might be a WWI spoon. Hoping it might have been one of her brothers who fought in the war.

Many thanks in advance.

If the number is 5848 there are two Lincolnshire Regiment candidates. 5848 Samuel Cumberworth, who enlisted in 1902 and ended up in the Labour Corps after disembarking in France on the 6th September 1914. However, he does not appear to have served in the 2nd Btn. The other 5848 was a Territorial Force soldier called George Drayton who was given the new T.F. number 202315 in 1917. This number would put him in the 1/4th T.F. battalion rather than the 2nd battalion.
