RogerWight Posted 11 February Share Posted 11 February Hi all. Thought i would share some photos of my "letter opener" German hunting knife engraved - 42 inside shell and Deutsche Brummer. My grandfather got this knife during the war or just after the armistice. Not sure how and where he got it from. He handed down to my father and he passed it on to me. It did have a sharp edge when my father got it. He took the edge off of it when i was a small child, for obvious reasons, and i would play with it. Hence it has been a letter opener ever since. Many thanks Roger
bert.f Posted 12 February Share Posted 12 February (edited) Hello. The name comes from the heavy 42 cm mortar "Deutscher Brummer", knife manufactured by the Anton Wingen JR. Solingen poz. Bert Edited 12 February by bert.f
