That is very nice.! I especially like the extremely clear markings and decals which are in such good condition. I am sure these pictures will be of interest to so many people. Thank you for posting. :thumbsup:

Thanks for sharing this with us mate. What a cracking example of something that I would say is definitely rare.

What a fabulous example - rare in any condition but this is exceptional, especially with the inner metal liner and labels still present - a great reference piece for collectors. Could only be improved by the addition of the missing brass latch for the lid - they do turn up on ebay from time to time, usually listed with sundry other relics.

edit : just spotted the string disappearing into the liner - is the 'missing' catch on the end of that ?

Yes, , the string is at the end of the catch and  is missing.
