S Kelly Posted 4 February Share Posted 4 February The shape of the badge’s ghost tells me this had a straight edge “V” bottomed Yugoslavian badge during its life and the exterior brushed-on repaint is slightly greenish in color. However, the interior is more of a brown color. Was this perhaps a refurbished Serbian helmet? Also, anyone familiar with the comb rivets? I have only seen split rivets, not this style. Matt Mc Posted 17 March Share Posted 17 March I also have an Adrian helmet with rivets rather than split pins adhering the comb. Liner, chinstrap and corrugated spacers all seem correct. Was this a war time replacement to repair weak split pins or post war production? I see no responses, but have the same question.
Casques of WW1 Posted 11 April Share Posted 11 April Given the fact that Serbian helmets were a much lighter brown and seem to match the inside of this helmet, it makes sense if this was the case since after Serbia was melded into Yugoslavia they likely would have painted over the old Serbian one to match the new Yugoslav color
S Kelly Posted Saturday at 11:29 Author Share Posted Saturday at 11:29 For me and Matt, do you have any information on the comb fasteners?
