Keith_history_buff Posted 4 February Share Posted 4 February Would anyone have a timeline for this formation, please. 1911 In India, as per 1911 Census 1915 Despatched to Mesopotamia with Tigris Corps, along with 77nd Heavy Battery, to form The Heavy Brigade RGA 1917 Personnel mentioned in despatches This has come about off the back of researching a gunner in this unit. He was compulsorily transferred to a new unit in Palestine in 1918. Did 72nd Heavy Battery redeploy to Palestine? Thanks for reading Other thread, mentioned in passing

(Mesopotamia) Things change in 1918, more to follow. He and a large number of other men were posted to the Royal Field Artillery and renumbered with effect from 3 July 1918. His new number was 272393. As of 25 Jul 1919, he was posted to No 4 Depot Dispersal Centre. On 23 Aug 1920, he was discharged after completing 21 years of service.
