Remembered Today:

Would you give me the time of day?

I have a shed-load of text in Notepad++ files. At the moment, I am highlighting any times of the day I can think of and putting I'm putting info in order (as you do). Attached an example and added the list I have so far. Can you think of any other terms that denote a time of day, military or otherwise?

Wee small hours.

You never know, have transcribed quite a few newspaper reports

Lights out  Thanks David,

I think I have most but probably missing a few. Some reports are quite vague time wise and anything helps.

You have made me think of night-time and day-time which is useful. These are the ones I'm looking for. Ones that are easily overlooked.

“Gone away is the morning, its teasing light,

The lit of the fire, the burn of its bright,

The chill of the dawning, the pass of the night,

The seeing of bombers passing from sight,

The stirring of gun teams standing down, last stag …”

There you are: dawning; last stag.

Sorry - I’m a bit bored. An extra point if you tell me the name of the soldier poet.
