I'm thinking about buying a collar badge from the CEF 40th Overseas, but I've done some research and it looks like they didn't go to France as a unit, but were transferred to other units at the front. The question is would they have kept their cap/ collar badges, or exchanged them for new ones of their new unit or even general service ones? Thank you.
