Guest keep fit. Posted 22 June , 2003 Share Posted 22 June , 2003 :wub Hello everyone i am new to this. It will take me a while to work everthing out. I have a ancestor who died in Russia in 1919 aged 19 he is buried in Archangle Cemetery in Russia. He was in the Royal Fusiliers 46th bn. As the war ended in 1918 i was wondering if he would have died from wounds or the cold or hunger. Where can i get info about the Royal Fusiliers in Russia. Would there have been a death cert sent to his parents? Thank you Susan xxx.
Guest Hill 60 Posted 22 June , 2003 Share Posted 22 June , 2003 Susan, You're right, the war did end in 1918 but there was still the fight in Russian between the 'Red' and 'White' Russians. The British, Canadians, Americans (if I remember rightly) and some other units fought out there. Someone will point you in the right direction, I'm sure.
