Justin Moretti Posted 15 January Share Posted 15 January Field Service Regulations, Part 1, either the 1909 edition or its 1914 revision. Field Service Regulations, Part 2 of the same vintage. Staff Manual, 1912. One would think that all three could easily be found on the Wayback Machine or somewhere else online, but so far no success. I actually have an original FSR I of 1914, but I prefer to handle it as little as possible. Can anyone help?

Justin Moretti Posted 15 January Author Share Posted 15 January Bless you. Two down, one to go. I always found it fascinating that the edition I have called attention to the most appropriate way to deal with enemy reconnaissance aircraft, that being armed aircraft. In other words, they're calling for dedicated interceptors. In 1914. This doesn't seem to be included in the version of FSR1 you've directed me to, but it is interesting that handling of aircraft as part of the army is sufficiently advanced that instructing pilots in the use of evasive flying, approaches by cloud cover, etc. to avoid being shot down by ground fire is already codified in writing.
