Tawhiri Posted 15 January Share Posted 15 January (edited) AIR 76 officer's personal records from the National Archives for all three, as well as associated casualty cards. Note that Henry James Ball appears to have two separate casualty cards that have not been linked, but the dates follow on from each other. Henry James Ball https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/D8188890 https://www.casualtyforms.org/form/27314 https://www.casualtyforms.org/form/27316 Frederick James Frape https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/D8261397 Frederick Raymond Hockney https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/D8272995 https://www.casualtyforms.org/form/11239 Frederick James Frape appears to be the Frederick James Frape who's birth was registered in Barton Regis, Gloucestershire in the second quarter of 1895. By 1901 Frederick and family were living in St Paul Deptford, London, while in 1911 the family had moved further west to Southwark and Frederick was an apprentice bootmaker. Post-war he married Hilda R Bright in the third quarter of 1920 in Southwark. The death of a Frederick J Frape, aged 63, with an implied birth year of 1895 was registered in Northamptonshire in 1958. 1895 birth registration - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:2F3W-SJD 1895 christening record - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XT96-M6F 1901 census - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X98L-QK4 1911 census - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XWPN-YC3 1920 marriage registration - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:262B-GM4 1958 death registration - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QVC8-HQ33 The birth of a Frederick Raymond Hockney was registered in Bedford, Bedfordshire in the second quarter of 1899, while the death of a Frederick Raymond Hockney, born 10 April 1899, was registered in 1977 in Staffordshire. By 1901 Frederick and family appear to be living in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. In the 1911 census the family appears to have moved to Sheffield, Yorkshire, and Frederick was using his second name of Raymond in preference to Frederick. 1899 birth registration - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:2F4F-NZ1 1901 census - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XSN3-SG6 1911 census - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XWK4-LCB 1977 death registration - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QVCR-6M3L Edited 15 January by Tawhiri

Tawhiri Posted 15 January Share Posted 15 January Based on his birthdate and parents' names on the CWGC website, Henry James Ball is the Henry James Ball who's birth was registered in Axbridge, Somerset in the second quarter of 1887, subsequently being christened in the parish church of Banwell, Somerset on 8 May 1887. In the 1891 and 1901 England and Wales censuses the family is living in Chepstow, Gloucestershire, which is consistent with the address of his parents on the CWGC website. By 1911 Henry has moved away from home and appears to be working as a correspondence clerk in a screw works in Bordesley, Warwickshire. 1887 birth registration - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:2XRS-KD6 1887 christening - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:6D9N-W6L7 1891 census - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:4V1X-LN2 1901 census - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X9T5-KN3 1911 census - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XWZ7-WCN
