Australian Troopship Magazines - looking for a Subject Matter Expert!

Hi there,

I am trying to find some info on specific sailings, and whether that sailing produced a troopship magazine. I haven't successfully been able to find a complete listing of AIF troopship magazines, any pointers would be appreciated.

The sailings I am interested in also transported the New Zealand Mounted Rifles Reinforcements (and as a collector of New Zealand troopship magazines I am interested in tracking down any of these that may have relevant content.)

  1. Malwa - departed Sydney, and arrived in Suez 24/8/16
  2. Mooltan - departed Sydney, and arrived in Suez 20/9/16
  3. Morea - departed Sydney, and arrived in Suez 14//1/16
  4. Malwa - departed unsure, and arrived in Suez 24/1/17
  5. Mooltan - departed Sydney, and arrived in Suez 24/1/17
  6. Morea - departed Sydney, transhipped in Bombay to Mashobra, and arrived in Suez 4/4/17
  7. Boora - departed Melbourne and arrived in Suez 8/4/17
  8. Port Sydney - departed Sydney, and arrived in Suez 19/6/17
  9. Port Sydney - departed Sydney, and arrived in Suez 19/10/17
  10. Port Lyttelton - departed Sydney, and arrived in Suez 3/8/18
  11. Port Sydney - departed Sydney, and arrived in Suez 19/9/18

There are a couple of others that I have already identified (namely Billjim at Sea and The Maltameter.

Regards,

Matt

Hi Fedelmar,

Yes very aware of Trove. The problem is that does not reflect every troopship publication produced. Just as I have spent many years working on my list of New Zealand titles, I need to find a similar pedant who has researched Australian titles. There are many I am sure that just do not appear on online catalogues.

Regards

Matt

It depends on what survived and what didn't unfortunately.
