stevenbecker Posted 9 January Share Posted 9 January Mates, I was after any details of his WWI service during 1917-18 what I have (born 1896 in Ludwigsburg died 20-12-44) from the Uhlan Regiment “King Wilhelm I.” (2nd Württembergisches) No. 20 to Pilot Field Aviation Department 69 1917 shown with his fathers 26th Div in Bulgarian and Italian Fronts 1917-18 the German Military Mission in Turkey reported PoW 20-10-18 by French later WWII executed at Berlin-Plötzensee implicated in the plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler (spelling in Ole Nikoljsen) awarded the Golden Military Merit Medal father General Eberhard Alfred Konrad Karl von Hofacker 26 Div at Caporetto and Generalkommando 51 I can confirm he served as ADC to Keiper but no other details other then being with his father Div on the Italian and Bulgar Fronts. The attached file is from the Heldengedenkmappe des deutschen Adels in which his brother is mentioned who DOW. Like I said, he has a file in Stuttgart in which his service could be found in more detail. Strange though it may sound, he is a leading character in a famous Welsh Language play called 'Brad' (Bertrayal), by Saunders Lewis.
