David Porter Posted 8 January Share Posted 8 January I have S.A.A. establishment figures for February 1916, which included grenades, and are as follows: Brigade Ammunition Column S.A.A. 336,000 (96,000 for Machine Guns) x 3 = 1,008,000 Grenades 1,380 (1 G.S. Wagon) x 3 = 4,140 Divisional Ammunition Column S.A.A. 820,000 (300,000 for Machine Guns) Grenades 1,380 (1 G.S. Wagon) Regimental Reserve S.A.A. 88,000 (Rifles only) per unit Machine Gun 72,000 per unit Grenades 768 per unit
GregO Posted 8 January Author Share Posted 8 January Excellent, I suspect by the end of 1917 it was somewhere around 80% of the total. This gives a good estimation of their expectations. Many thanks.
