Remembered Today:

13180 Pte Harold Wood

Greetings (again)

For a number of years I have owned a WW1 trio ( 1914-15 Star, War and Victory Medals ) to

13180 Pte  Harold Wood 9th Notts & Derby Regt later Pte 6603 1st Connaught Rangers .

He was  born in 1895 and lived in Mansfield Woodhouse ,Notts . He was wounded on 3/9/1916.

I have found the rolls for his War and Victory medals and his S.W.B. but nothing for his 1914-15 Star .

Once again can anyone assist? ,I will be most grateful.

You need to look for Woods as well as Wood.

Did you also note he appears as Wounded 13180 Notts Derby H Wood, published 9/10/16? This suggest possible actual wounding early Sept 1916.

Edit. Reread your op and see you already have this!

Hi O.R.H.

Sent over a copy of 'The Mansfield Reporter and Sutton Times'  Friday, October 13rd 1916 where Harold is reported as 'Wounded'.

regards

Hi Gunner

Thank you very much , it copied well. All helps to build up a picture of the man

and stops him from being forgotten.
