John Edward Briggs Scrowston

Hi all, JEB Scrowston died a few days before the end of the War, he enlisted in Hull lived in Hull but is buried in Waterford Southern Ireland. 

I'm living in Waterford and recently spotted his grave . I'm curious is to why is he is buried in Southern Ireland? Any thoughts appreciated.

He was with the 2/1st East Riding of Yorkshire Yeomanry at the time and was stationed in Ireland.

He died of flu in Waterford on 2nd November 1918.

Thanks Russ and Gunner , makes sense now , I'm guessing spanish flu at that stage , 

Gunner if you wouldn't mind looking at fold3 there is a another grave in the same cemetery 

Edward H S Shepherd also listed as dying in Waterford military cemetery
