In memory of all those men who climbed out of their trenches and, for a few hours, left the insanity of war behind and celebrated Christ’s birth in No Man’s Land 109 years ago today. May they all rest in peace.

Also remember the 77 British Soldiers recorded as losing their lives on that day, elsewhere in the line or Died of Wounds.

Coincidentally , the BBC website is running an article on the truce this morning.

So, if i have got the number wrong, well, that’s something else we can blame on ‘Auntie’.
