The Blockade by Jack Borland.pdf

My great uncle, Jack Borland (John McInnes Borland) was employed by the P&O from about 1893 and joined the RNR. As a result he was in the Royal Navy throughout the First World War: in 1918 he was Commander of the Scandinavian Convoys. He returned to the P&O in 1919, retiring ten years later. He died in 1946.

The Blockade was almost certainly typed by him in the 1930's but presumably written while he was in command of the "Cormorin" in the 1920's. It includes some personal reminiscences, a critique of the conduct of the war at sea and a discussion of the Blockade.
