Recommended Posts

Prior to the attack of 31 July 1917, the emplacement was shelled with 8 inch guns firing 304 shells at a distance of 5,4 kms, and 155 mm French gun firing 500 shells from 6 kms distance. The shelling was directed by observation balloon. Only two casted concrete bunkers more or less  resisted the shelling.

Some nice pics there Eddy. If I remember correctly - haven't seen it for quite a few years - the one at Tilleul Farm ( name on British maps) shows some signs of being re-used and changed around during the war (possibly not the brickwork evident).

Always happy to see these pics.
