Half-pint Posted 17 April , 2005 Share Posted 17 April , 2005 Arthur Norris Marshall was born in 1896 at Newent, Gloucestershire. His parents were Dr. William Norris Marshall [c1838-1919] and Adela Frances G. Wood [born c1859]. Arthur's father, William, was born at his mother's home in Tullamore in county Offaly, Ireland; William's father was James Henry Marshall, born in 1811 at Caledon in county Tyrone. Arthur was killed instantly by a shell on 31 July, 1916. He was buried at Thiepval, Somme, France. I am posting this item because Arthur is another Great War serviceman found during my family history research of Huggins and Marshall families of/near Caledon in county Tyrone ... in the event that another researcher is looking for him.
