Hi

Could someone please advise me of the period and model of these boots. I have been unable to find an exact match on the web.

WW1, WW2 or could they be inter War or private purchase?

Thanks

I'm not expert but a quick search on the Web suggests that they look like a cross between a French Mle 41 and Mle 45 boot with the '45' on the sole probably indicating either the Mle or the year of manufacture. Every indication is that they are WW2.

45 will almost certainly be the Continental shoe size (ie the equivalent of a UK 10 or US 11), and not a model designation or year of production.

If - as I suspect - these were purchased from a militaria dealer whose initials are SM, you might want to do a bit of research on their general propriety and whether they describe things accurately.

Hi

Thanks for the replies, I had my doubts about them they are listed as being WW1 but as peregrivs commented the seller does sometimes make mistakes.
